If you took the General Educational Development (GED) test and need a copy of your diploma and/or transcript, the following instructions will help you prepare the request. The GED office is not equipped to fulfill orders by telephone or via the Internet, we require a written request accompanied by the required fee. Once we receive the written request in the GED office, it takes approximately 5-7 days for the document to be mailed.

To receive a copy of your diploma and/or transcript, you should:

  1. Submit a request in writing that includes your name, date of birth, and social security number. We also request that you provide the year the test was taken and where the test was taken in your request.

  2. Send a $4 money order or cashier's check for each copy you are requesting.

  3. Send an envelope, with postage attached, addressed to where you would like the transcript mailed. A transcript requires a letter sized envelope with first class postage. A diploma requires a 10x13 envelope with $.80 postage attached. If you order both documents, send only the 10x13 envelope.

  4. Mail your request to:

    Florida Department of Education
    GED Testing Office
325 West Gaines Street, Room 634
    Tallahassee, Florida 32399-0400

Please remember, the GED office is not allowed to send scores by FAX.

If you have any questions about these procedures or if we can offer assistance of another nature, please contact the GED office at 850/245-0449 or toll-free in Florida at 1-877-352-4331.
